Sticky Notes: My Favourite Mugs - three o'clock
A enchanting sticky note set, designed by Midori Asano.
The beloved custom of the “3 o’clock snack” traces back to the Edo period, where it began as a practical way to ease afternoon hunger. Over the years, it has blossomed into a gentle cultural ritual, a small delight tucked into the rhythm of everyday life.
With the establishment of the modern school system in the Meiji era, children’s schedules came to follow school hours, and a natural pause appeared around 3 p.m. This became the perfect time for a little snack. What started as simple adult foods, dumplings, sweet potatoes, and other modest bites, gradually shifted into treats made with children in mind.
From a nutritional perspective, three o’clock sits neatly between meals, making it an ideal moment for a light refreshment and a boost of energy.
A pair of tiny, palm‑sized sticky note pads, bundled together like a small gift.
Their covers are crafted from the same paper as our letter sheets, adding a quiet touch of care.
Use them for quick memos, little messages, planner decoration, or even as a sweet accent for wrapping.
